Since it's been so long since my last post, I'll just very quickly recap what I've been up to here.
November 2010If I remember right, I was still stuck in the 190s. I ended up putting my exercise and weight-loss efforts on the back burner for a while.
December 2010
I head back to the gym and started my
January 2011Again, my effort wasn't really were it should have been. Spring semester started and I stopped for a bit. My eating wasn't completely healthy, but it wasn't too awful. I did enough to maintain my weight at 190.
February 2011
A week ago, I started eating better and have slowly added in some exercise here and there. Not much, but I guess it's better than nothing. Yesterday, I decided to hit the treadmill to see just how long/far I could jog. I figured I would be able to hit around 10 minutes or so. The last time I was attempted to jog was last March when I started the C25K program. I only lasted for 10 minutes at a time and couldn't push through to go longer. I'm sure it was all mental, then, because I lasted longer than 10 minutes yesterday. How long, exactly, did I last?
35 MINUTES!
I did a 5K in 35 MINUTES!
I was, and am, still shocked that I was able to do that. I'm beyond proud of myself and am looking forward to doing another run tomorrow. I'm currently planning the next couple weeks with runs. My goal is to slowly increase my mileage. I would LOVE to run a half-marathon some day. I should probably find the sheet of paper that I wrote my goals on so I can add to my blog.
My weigh-in for yesterday was 185.2.
